The Premier League is famously one of the most competitive leagues in the world and the bookmakers are in agreement that Liverpool have what it takes to win it once again this season.
Liverpool, who beat Bournemouth 4-2 in their opening match of the season on Friday night, went into this season as the current champions and they have spent heavily this summer to try and make sure they repeat that feat.
They have brought in Hugo Ekitike, who grabbed a goal on his debut on Friday night, and have also been linked, heavily, with a Premier League record bid for striker Alexander Isak from Newcastle.
In defence they have added Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong and Givoanni Leoni, and have been linked with a move for Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace also.
There main signing was Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen, though, as they paid more than £100million to bring the German to Anfield.
That kind of investment has Liverpool at 15/8 with Bet365 and 2/1 wiht Ladbrokes and 7/4 with Boylesports to take the title again this year.
And they certainly showed why on Friday night.
In what was a game full of emotion, what with it being the first competitive game at Anfield after the death of Diogo Jota, Liverpool managed to beat Bournemouth 4-2.
They took a 2-0 lead before being pegged back to 2-2, but two late goals then gave them the win.
The spirt showed in that result show why they won the league last year, and why they will be among the frontrunners this time round.
They will have to overcome their fellow top four sides to do so, tbough, according to the bookmakers.
bet365 have Arsenal right up there with Liverpool at 9/4, while they have Man City at 3/1 and Chelsea at 7/1.
Ladbrokes, meanwhile, have Arsenal at 5/2 and Man City at 11/4 and Chelsea at 8/1.
Over at Boylesports you can get Arsenal at 9/4, Man City at 11/4 and Chelsea at 15/2.
Outside of those four Manchester United are the next shortest odds, but 25/1 and 40/1 odds show that the bookmakers do not have much faith in those two competiting.
And you can see why as, as mentioned above Liverpool have spent big this summer, but so have the others that will be challenging.
Manchester City beat Wolves in their opening game with new singings Tijjani Reijnders and Rayan Cherki both finding the scoresheet in the proces, while Chelsea have already won a trophy with their new signings João Pedro, Jamie Gittens and Liam Delap, and they have added the likes of Hato from Ajax since then also.
Arsenal have also been busy bringing in Martín Zubimendi and Christian Nørgaard who helped to add solidity as well as the arrival of striker Viktor Gyökeres who they are hoping can provide the cutting edge needed up front.
Between the top four nearly one billion pounds has been spent on players already and that is why the bookmakers think the league winner will come from them - with Liverpool having the slight advantage - and that is before they bring in Isak.
